Numbers matching 185hp 350ci engine, automatic transmission, posi rear-end. A Corvette restorer's dream! This 1978 Corvette Pace Car is in great running condition and has TONS of potential to be an extremely nice car with a very small investment. Appearing to have had just 1 repaint, this car is currently due for another paint job, as it is faded and its clearcoat is peeling in some areas. Additionally, a previous owner has added a set of vents for the tops of the fenders, and a Cragar rear window louver kit. The only body damage on this car appears to be to the lower front spoiler, which is currently broken. The glass t-tops are in good shape with no cracks, and the original Pace Car specific polished aluminum wheels have just been buffed and look fantastic. Additionally, a brand new set of radial raised white letter tires has just been installed. We have just replaced the brake pads and brake calipers as well for safety reasons, as the car has been sitting for a period of time. Chrome exterior door handles are showing typical wear and should be replaced. Although appearing older or possibly original, all weatherstripping on this car is in good condition and looks to be intact. There is a large crack on the passenger's side of the windshield. Originally all Silver, the interior of this 1978 Pace Car now features Black carpet, and Black seat covers and door panel inserts. Seat belts on this car are Black as well, and are in very nice shape. For what looks to be an original piece, the leather-wrapped steering wheel is in great shape, showing no major cracks or fading and just a few small dings. Additionally, the dash pad is free from cracks, although the seat covers show some splitting at their seams. Tunes are provided by a Sony cassette deck and a Mid America rear speaker bar. Door panels show some fading, but no rips or tears, and the center console looks to be in very good condition as well. Showing an engine assembly date of April 14, 1978, the engine block in this 1978 Corvette Pace Car features a set of newer-style centerbolt heads. A costly aluminum Be Cool radiator is also present, as is a Holley carburetor, and a matching numbers GM intake. Both exhaust manifolds show casting number 14081238. A set of chrome valve covers and a chrome air cleaner are present as well, and a newer-looking remanufactured a/c compressor is also currently installed. This car features a rust-free frame. Hurry before this chance to pick up an easily-restorable Pace Car ends! Factory features include glass t-tops, rear defrost, power locks, power antenna, aluminum wheels, tilt-n-tele, power windows, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, cruise control, sport mirrors. $9,599.
